A pink city burning with a million fairy lights
Clouds pouring rain over silhouettes in the night
A dozen plays and more fashion to come
Everything anyone wants, with a pinch of love
A romantic language and even more this impenetrable beauty
Here lies where I live, who doesn’t love this city?
Friends, bring them along and laugh
Capture the moment in your vintage photographs
Live life, full size, red and blooming roses passed along in the street
Lover, mate, mother, cousin or any stranger you meet
And in this town of love and joy I find despair somehow
Oh, melancholy sadness, you’re here just now
But as I see the lightening descend like a queen
I find that the sky has every place above been
It lives with me, my friends, the girl in the bus who I can’t forget
The clouds thunder everywhere, the eight billion people it’s met
And as I look at the mountains that stand
Crowning this kingdom and justly ruling the land
Will I forever know that these beauties never end
Here’s to the mountains, my river, my thrill, all family and every friend.
